PeakSpan Capital and Ibbaka are beginning work on our 3rd annual survey of Net Revenue Retention performance in B2B software (B2B SaaS, Business AI, and AI Agents).

This survey has become a critical tool for company operators, their boards, and investors in benchmarking NRR performance and understanding best practices and trends.

NRR differs across different B2B software categories, and this survey is the only one that looks deep enough to see these differences. The survey also gives insight into the organizational designs and NRR performance

We are keeping the format the same as in past years to make it easier to look for trends, but have added a couple of questions on agents and the impact that agents may have on Net Revenue Retention. This will be an important leading indicator of how agents may impact SaaS economics.

You can access the 2023 study here and the 2024 study here.

Here are some of the hypotheses we want to test with this survey.

The introduction of agents will change NRR patterns. In 2025, companies introducing agents will:

  • See higher churn

  • See higher expansion revenue

(You can make your own predictions by taking this little LinkedIn Poll.)
